Jean Gallay orders Laserdyne system

Jean Gallay SA, Geneva, Switzerland, has ordered a Laserdyne 795XL BeamDirector® system equipped with a 2-kW fiber laser from Prima Power Laserdyne, Champlin, Minn., for 2-D and 3-D processing of heat-resistant alloys, stainless steel alloys, titanium, and titanium alloys.

Jean Gallay performs forming, welding, plasma coating, and heat treatment of superalloy components for use in extreme operating conditions. Its products are used in industrial gas turbines, aircraft engines, helicopter turbines, and nuclear reactors.

The laser system can control seven axes of motion with an 80- by 40- by 40-in. work envelope that can include two high-accuracy rotary tables and the S94P CNC, designed for multiaxis laser processing.
