- Laser Cutting
LAI Intl. Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz., a supplier of precision components and subassemblies for OEMs, has named two officers to its senior management team: Vinnie Caliendo as chief financial officer and Eric Nelson as vice president and chief technology officer.
Caliendo previously was CFO at Rich Technology Intl. (RTI), which LAI acquired in 2007. He was the lead contact for the sale. While with RTI, Caliendo served in the top financial position and as COO. Before that he served in various positions for Orion Research and Electronics Corp. of America. He has a bachelor's degree in management studies from Boston University, a certificate in accountancy from Bentley College, and an APICS MRP certification.
Nelson has more than 25 years' experience in management and process development for aerospace and power generation markets. As a senior methods engineer and foreman at Pratt & Whitney, he evaluated new technologies for material processing and developed laser machining specifications for advanced electron beam and laser welding processes for the PW5000 engine, YF22 STOL nozzle, J58, RL10 rocket engine, and other engine components. He also has served as COO for RTI and as a manager for Chromalloy.
Nelson has completed several engineering and management training programs, as well as attended the University of Maine for industrial technology and M.B.A. undergraduate courses.
