Mazak Optonics announces Automated Recovery Seminar for Western region

Increasing laser-cutting capacity without the burden of added manpower is the driving theme behind the Automated Recovery Seminars presented by Mazak Optonics Corp. As part of its 2011 Spring seminar schedule, the company will conduct an Automated Recovery Seminar in Anaheim, California, on March 10.

The seminar will educate manufacturers on how to overcome post-recession manpower challenges through the use of automation. Seminar discussions, presentations, and an off-site plant tour to a local laser cutting services company will all center on and reinforce the impact of automated machine functions and using automated material handling to increase capacity, even in jobshop environments.

"Trends during today's recovery include smaller lot sizes, shorter backlogs, a lack of skilled workers, and uncertainty regarding governmental employment regulation," said Bill Citron, president of Mazak Optonics and Automated Recovery Seminar host. "Whether considering a standalone machine with automated set up, automated material handling or a combination of the two, implementing leading-edge technology can significantly increase manufacturing throughput and lower cost per part, all without adding direct labor costs."

This educational event will include an off-site tour of the Pinnacle Precision manufacturing facility. A highlight of the tour will be the company's Mazak Optonics Hyper Gear laser machine incorporated into a fully automated flexible manufacturing system (FMS).

The California seminar will take place at the Embassy Suites - North, in Anaheim.
