PICALO 2008 headed to Beijing

The Laser Institute of America (LIA), the organization that hosts ICALEO® (International Congress on Applications of Lasers & Electro-Optics) every year, has announced that its 3rd Pacific International Conference on Applications of Lasers and Optics (PICALO) will be held April 16-18, 2008 at the Capital Hotel in Beijing, China. PICALO will focus on the growth and application of lasers and optics in the Pacific region.

The conference will feature laser materials processing sessions; micro, nano, and ultrafast fabrication sessions, a laser industry vendor reception; and networking opportunities. New for 2008 will be the International Enterprise Summit titled "Globalization: Opportunities & Challenges for Laser Businesses in China & the World." This summit will provide insight from industry experts on how to expand business in China.

LIA is seeking abstract submissions for PICALO 2008. Papers sought will cover such topics as aerospace, cutting and drilling, welding, manufacturing, research, software, and hybrid processes, and should contain original, recent unpublished results of application research, development or implementation. Submittal deadline is Sept. 3, 2007.
