Prima open house to feature laser cutting, bending technologies

Prima North America Inc., a manufacturer of 2-D and 3-D laser cutting and automation equipment, has announced plans to hold an open house/seminar June 4 and 5 at its Technology Center in Chicopee, Mass. The event will feature the company's laser cutting products and a new Finn-Power press brake.

Prima will present 2-D laser technology June 4 and cover 3-D systems June 5. The 2-D laser track will feature the company's Syncrono system, which has a patented laser head designed with two additional small, linear-driven parallel kinematic axes on the moving gantry to allow the cutting head to cut more than 1,000 holes per minute at an acceleration of up to 6G. The company also will demonstrate the Platino 1530—a 2-D laser system that has a new, three-lens cutting head—and the CP4000 and CV5000 laser resonators.

Prima also will feature its Domino 3D/2D cutting system, which has an enhanced Z axis height designed to optimize 3-D cutting, as well as its Rapido 3-D system.

In addition, Prima will demonstrate the Finn-Power E series press brake on both days. The nonhydraulic press brake incorporates a patented, mechatronic drive designed to distribute forces in the top beam equally to increase accuracy and decrease energy consumption.

On both days the open house/seminar will include programming and software, automation, and automatic load/unload system demonstrations, as well as tours of the facility.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days, with entertainment and dinner activities also planned. To register, contact Suzanne Bara at 800-527-3760, send an e-mail to openhouse2008@prima-na.com, or register online.
