TRUMPF earns CQIA Innovation Prize for its TruLaser 1030
- October 25, 2010
- News Release
- Laser Cutting
TRUMPF Inc., Farmington, Conn., has received an award from Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership Inc. (CQIA) for its ability to successfully bring to the marketplace new products and services, even in a faltering economy.
A letter from CQIA stated, in part: "The twelve 2010 CQIA Innovation Prize (CIP) examiners agreed that TRUMPF used numerical results from the last five years to earn a gold CIP for the TruLaser 1030 with its energy-efficient TruCoax 2000 laser resonator."
The 2-D laser cutting system is designed for energy efficiency. Using standby mode when the machine is not in operation significantly reduces energy consumption, the company states. In addition, the resonator's small, premixed gas bottle lasts for at least one year, and the moving exhaust system captures fumes during the cutting process.
CQIA is the nation's first state-level quality award using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria in a campaign to advance innovative programs that improve quality, performance, and marketplace competitiveness.
