LIA, OSHA renew alliance

October 9, 2007

The Laser Institute of America (LIA), Orlando, Fla., has renewed its alliance with the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to continue providing its members with important information to help prevent exposure to laser beam and nonbeam hazards in industrial and medical workplaces.

Through the alliance, LIA members contribute information about laser safety to the online editorial boards on four of OSHA's Safety and Health Topics pages. Sample copies are available from the organization's office at 13501 Ingenuity Drive, Suite 128, in Orlando, or by calling 407-380-1553.

The LIA is an international society for laser applications and safety and is the secretariat and publisher of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z136 series of laser safety standards.
