Lincoln Electric Automation to host structural steel industry event

Lincoln Electric Automation will host a SteelDay event at the company's Automation Center of Excellence on Sept. 24. The full-day agenda will include presentations, demonstrations, a facility tour, and lunch. Special guest Dr. Omer Blodgett will be available to sign books.

SteelDay 2010, sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), is the second annual national event dedicated to providing accessibility to the latest developments in the structural steel industry. Several events will take place across the U.S. at mills, fabrication shops, service centers, manufacturers, and galvanizers.

Presentations at the Lincoln Electric event will cover topics such as cost reduction through welded steel, historical bridge restoration, and welding safety, as well as what Lincoln products and systems are suitable for the structural steel industry. Many demonstrations are planned, including robotic SAW, robotic cutting and scribing, weld fume control, and the new VRTEX™ 360 virtual reality welding trainer.
