Ajax Rolled Ring & Machine expands in South Carolina

Ajax Rolled Ring & Machine has opened a $2 million manufacturing facility at its York County, S.C., location. Up to 25 new positions will be added over the next two years to operate the new machining facility.

The company is a supplier of seamless steel forged rings from 12 to 100 in. dia. for use in large gears and bearings for applications such as large mining vehicles and wind turbines.

The 15,000-sq.-ft. facility is climate-controlled, allowing for tighter control of the machining operation and allowing machining to within 0.001 in. The facility also allows the company to produce new configurations and shapes of rings.
