CTMA announces opening of 2015 Apprentice Bursary Award program

The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA), Cambridge, Ont., has announced the opening of the 2015 Annual Bursary Award program. The purpose of the program is to recognize, support, and provide encouragement to apprentices and pre-apprentices and to increase awareness of the value of skilled trades training in the Canadian tooling and machining industry.

As industry is changing the way skills training is being delivered, the committee has created a new award for pre-apprentices that are registered in an introductory skills training program.

CTMA member companies may nominate up to three apprentices and pre-apprentices (in any combination) annually for the selection committee’s consideration. Selected apprentices will receive a bursary award of up to $1,000 and selected pre-apprentices will receive a bursary award of up to $500, as well as a selection of tools and other trade-related items.

The deadline for nomination forms to be submitted is June 19, 2015. For more information and a nomination form, click here.
