D&S Mfg. adds bridge mill

D&S Mfg., a custom manufacturer of large-scale components, assemblies, and weldments, has announced the installation of an Okuma MCR-A5CII bridge mill in the recently completed 9,300-sq.-ft. addition at its plant in Black River Falls, Wis.

The machine has a table capacity of 200 by 100 in. and a maximum workpiece height of 70 in., allowing the company to machine taller parts. The unit also is paired with a 10-ton crane to enable the company to fully use its maximum workpiece weight capacity.

The use of a multipositioning right-angle head attachment allows for machining on five sides with only one setup.
