Hurco announces acquisition of two machine tool companies

Hurco Companies Inc., Indianapolis, a manufacturer of metal cutting machine tools with integrated control technologies, has announced that, through a wholly owned subsidiary, it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Waconia, Minn.-based Milltronics Mfg. Co. Inc. Milltronics designs and manufactures CNC knee mills, toolroom bed mills, vertical machining centers, combination lathes, slant-bed lathes, horizontal machining centers, and bed mills.

In addition, Hurco subsidiary Hurco Mfg. Ltd. has entered into an agreement to acquire the business, technology, and operating assets of Taiwan-based Takumi Machinery Co. Ltd. Takumi designs and manufactures CNC vertical machining centers, double-column machining centers, and high-speed bridge machines. Closing is expected by the end of July 2015.

Hurco plans to continue to market the Hurco, Milltronics, and Takumi branded machine tool products separately.
