Kennametal raises $1 million for United Way

Kennametal Inc., Latrobe, Pa., has announced that it raised $1 million in support of the United Way and its agencies during the 2013 campaign.

Kennametal Chairman, President, and CEO Carlos Cardoso accepted the first Live United Award given by The United Way of Westmoreland County to recognize the $1 million campaign, as well as the company's longstanding and multifaceted support of the community.

Nearly 1,600 Kennametal employees pledged $679,000 to the campaign through annual contributions or participation in fundraising events. The company raised an additional $172,000 in its annual Strategic Supplier Golf Outing, while leadership donations garnered $107,000 in matching grants from a community foundation, and the Kennametal Foundation added its annual contribution of $45,000.
