Okuma adds staff to sales, product specialist teams

Okuma America Corp., Charlotte, N.C., has added Brian Sides and Tom O’Toole to its sales and product specialist teams. Both are veterans in the CNC machine tool industry with more than 50 years of combined experience.

Sides, sales engineer, joined the company in 1992 as an electrical engineer designing controls systems for the firm’s machine tools. For the last 10 years he has served as director of technology. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from NC State. Sides will support Okuma distribution partner Gosiger.

O’Toole, principal sales engineer, previously worked at the company from 1985 to 2002 as an applications engineer. He is responsible for the business planning, sales, and support of double columns and specialized large-frame products. O’Toole has a bachelor’s degree from Berea College.
