Plataine names vice president of sales, metal fabrication

Plataine, Ball Ground, Ga., has appointed Richard Piacenza as vice president of sales, metal fabrication.

Piacenza has 20 years of sales and marketing management experience in the industry, serving most recently as director of sales and engineering at Vulcanium Corp. Before that he was director of sales and marketing at Chicago Metallic.

An advocate and spokesperson on improving production performance, Piacenza is a member of the Industrial Laser Council of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (FMA), Rockford, Ill. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Plataine provides products designed to optimize material utilization and shorten manufacturing cycles.
