Tube 2012 presents record number of exhibitors

The recent staging of Tube 2012 International Tube Trade Fair, in Düsseldorf, Germany, closed with record exhibitor numbers and increased visitor participation.
A total of 1,184 exhibitors from 48 countries showcased their products in 527,400 sq. ft. of net exhibit space — an increase of 9.4 percent compared to Tube 2010. Exhibitors included 44 companies from the U.S., with 18 companies participating in the North American Pavilion, organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America, Chicago, and co-sponsored by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (FMA), Rockford, Ill., and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Dearborn, Mich.
Attendees came primarily from France, Italy, the U.S., Great Britain, Brazil, Spain, India, the Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, and Belgium. A total of 62 percent of visitors came from industry, 21 percent from trade, and 5 percent from skilled crafts.
Visitors were interested mainly in tubes (57 percent), tube processing machinery (26 percent), tube materials (23 percent), and tube production machinery (22 percent). Visitors named accessories (18 percent), profiles (16 percent), and profile production machinery (10 percent) as their primary reasons for attending the show.
