Metaldyne names executive VP, Commercial Group

Metaldyne today announced that Thomas Amato has been appointed executive vice president, Commercial Group. Tim Leuliette, chairman, president, and CEO, made the announcement.
In this role, Amato oversees global sales and marketing, supply chain management, and corporate development. Reporting to Amato are: Roseann Stevens, vice president of sales and marketing; Linda Theisen, vice president of supply chain management; and Terry Iwasaki, director of finance, Commercial Group.
Most recently, Amato served as vice president of corporate development, where he was responsible for the company's business development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, divestitures and other business development activities. In this position, he played a key role in Metaldyne's acquisition of the Chrysler Group's New Castle, Ind. facility.
Before that, Amato served as vice president of corporate development for the company's former Diversified Industrial Group (which later became TriMas Corp.), where he was responsible for the group's business development and strategic activities.
Amato holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He will continue to work at the Metaldyne corporate headquarters in Plymouth, Mich.
