Wise Alloys plans expansion in Alabama

Wise Alloys, a producer of aluminum can stock for the beverage industry, plans to spend $59.8 million to expand its cold mill operation in Muscle Shoals, Ala., adding at least 35 new jobs. The expansion will allow the production of more wide can body sheet.
The expansion will include a new mill combined with existing equipment to create a cold mill that will produce a wider sheet at finished gauge. A new wide slitter will be installed to trim the sheet to finished width. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2014.
