Accumet offers fabrication of refractory metals

February 7, 2006

Accumet Materials Co., Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., offers precision fabrication of tantalum and other refractory metals such as molybdenum and tungsten using various processing techniques.

Tantalum offers corrosion resistance to most acids, bases, and liquid metals and can be easily worked at room temperature. It also provides good thermal conductivity that makes is suitable for use in chemical equipment applications such as heat exchangers for acid processing equipment. It also offers temperature resistance up to 5,425 degrees F, making it suitable in applications such as heating elements, heat shields, and vacuum tubes.

The company fabricates tantalum by rolling, swaging, drawing, and cold forming. It offers standard-sized refractory metal rods, plates, and wire.
