AEC recognizes volunteers for outstanding contributions

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), Wauconda, Ill., has presented awards to four individuals recognizing their contributions to the council.

Lewie Smith, president of Jordan Aluminum Extrusions in Memphis, Tenn., and Bill Rogers, director of metallurgy and process technology for Alcoa’s worldwide operations, each received AEC Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Duncan Crowdis, retired from Bonnell Aluminum Co. in Newnan, Ga., was presented with the Distinguished Service Award, the council’s highest honor bestowed on an AEC member that has shown exceptional dedication and service. Crowdis was elected to the AEC board of directors in 2006, serving as chairman from 2011-2013.

Rand Baldwin, retiring AEC president, also received an award in recognition of his years of service to the council.
