Aleris recognized by the U.K.'s Ministry of Defense

Aleris, a provider of aluminum rolled products and extrusions based in Cleveland, has been recognized by the U.K.'s Ministry of Defense (MOD) for the role that its aluminum defense products played in improving the protection of the Warrior armored vehicle. According to the MOD, the upgraded protection provided through the company’s aluminum resulted in increased confidence for crews of the vehicle.

"Since the installation of the Aleris aluminum defense plate protection improvement, there have been multiple IED [improvised explosive device] hits with no serious injuries to the vehicle crew," said Paul Bailey, Warrior in-service support and urgent operational requirement manager at the MOD.
