Aluminum Association, Instituto del Aluminio sign statistics agreement

Leaders from the U.S. and Mexican national aluminum associations signed a memorandum of understanding clearing the way for a joint statistics program and the first North American aluminum demand report. Currently The Aluminum Association, in cooperation with the Canadian Aluminum Association, publishes aluminum demand data for the U.S. and Canada.

The Aluminum Association, based in Arlington, Va., with offices in Detroit, Mich., represents U.S. and foreign-based primary producers of aluminum, aluminum recyclers, and producers of fabricated products, as well as suppliers to the industry. Member companies operate about 200 plants in the U.S. and many conduct business worldwide.
