American Piping expands in Houston, hires CFO in St. Louis
- December 15, 2009

- Metals/Materials
American Piping Products has expanded its Houston facility with a new sales and operations headquarters. The company is a supplier of heavy-wall carbon, stainless, and chrome-moly steel pipe, fittings, and valves used in the oil and gas and power generation industries, as well as for manufacturing and construction applications.
The new operations center is a 1,600-sq.-ft. brick building that sits at the entrance of the 22-acre storage yard and steel pipe exporting campus. As a result of the expansion, the shipping and receiving team can observe all of the comings and goings of the plant. The new building is significantly larger than the older facility, housing 14 employees now with room for about 10 more.
At its St. Louis facility, the company hired Matt Danis as CFO. He has 10 years of private equity and investment banking experience. Danis most recently served as CEO and CFO of WIT Postal Logistics LLC. Before acquiring WIT Postal Logistics, he acquired and strategically managed more than 10 middle-market businesses as a member of two private equity firms.
Danis received his B.A. in economics from the University of Richmond and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
