AP&T joins initiative for efficient manufacturing of fuel cell plates

AP&T, Cell Impact, and Sandvik have joined together to develop a system for cost-efficient, large-scale manufacturing of fuel cell plates.

Sandvik has produced a new method for coating stainless steel strip. The material is delivered with a finished surface, which eliminates the need to coat each piece individually and to handle formed plates. Cell Impact's technology for high-speed forming increases the steel's formability and enables the creation of complex, exact patterns and the reduction of material thickness. AP&T has integrated the different parts into a complete production process based on its experience in production lines for heat exchanger plates.
