ASD announces winner of 2014 Steel Man of the Year Award
The Association of Steel Distributors (ASD), Chicago, has named Michael G. Rippey, chairman of ArcelorMittal USA, as the winner of the 2014 Steel Man of the Year Award.
The award recognizes Rippey’s many contributions to the steel industry since joining Inland Steel in 1984. He led the 2014 joint venture among ArcelorMittal, Nippon Steel, and Sumitomo Metals Corp. to acquire the AM/NS Calvert finishing facility, in addition to fulfilling countless leadership and operations responsibilities.
