Big River Steel breaks ground on Arkansas mill

Big River Steel has broken ground in Osceola, Ark., on a $1.3 billion steel mill. Scheduled for completion in summer 2016, the plant is expected to employ more than 500 people.

Nucor Steel has filed a federal lawsuit to block the project. Nucor operates two steel mills in the same county where the new mill will be located. Big River Steel must respond to the lawsuit by Oct. 10.
