Commercial Metals subsidiary acquires OmniSource Corp. recycling facilities

Irving, Texas-based Commercial Metals Co. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Owen Steel Co. of South Carolina, has signed a definitive asset purchase agreement to acquire certain assets from OmniSource Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Steel Dynamics Inc.

The agreement covers seven recycling facilities that purchase, process, and sell ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal and other related products throughout the southeastern U.S. The location will support CMC’s minimill in Cayce, S.C.

CNC and its subsidiaries manufacture, recycle, and market steel and metal products, related materials, and services.
