Constellium to open manufacturing facility in Mexico

Amsterdam-based Constellium N.V. has announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to produce aluminum automotive structural components.

The automotive industry expects that nearly 5 million vehicles will be produced annually in Mexico by 2019, making it one of the largest markets for automobile production. The company plans to invest about $10 million in the nearly 54,000-sq.-ft. facility, which can be expanded to nearly 140,000 sq. ft. in the future to adapt to customers' supply needs.

The facility will employ about 100 people initially, with production expected to start in 2018.
