Horizon Steel expands to new facility

Horizon Steel has announced an expansion of its Illinois operations through the acquisition of the former MC Steel Co.'s equipment and facility in Wheeling.

In addition to a 72-in. cut-to-length line, a 24-in. slitting line with deburring capabilities, a sheared blanking line, and a second edge-conditioning line, the company has added a 72-in., 0.250-ga. Red Bud slitter with an inline corrective leveler.

Horizon Steel is a provider of flat-rolled steel to the automotive, appliance, agricultural, and construction industries and carries a full line of carbon steel products, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and coated, as well as AHSS.
