Hydro Aluminum N.A. names vice president

Hydro Aluminum North America has appointed Stig Tjotta as vice president, Western Region for Extruded Products. He has been vice president of manufacturing for extruded products for the past two years. Before that he had the same responsibility for Hydro Aluminum North America’s parent company, Hydro Aluminium in Eruope.

In his new position, Tjotta oversees all extruded products operations at the company’s Phoenix, Ariz., and Guaymas, Mexico, facilities.

Tjotta has an M.Sc. in physics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Oslo. He served in several executive positions within the company for 12 years in Norway, France, and Switzerland, focusing on R&D, die design technology development, manufacturing, and extrusion technology.
