MSCI Manufacturing Summit events scheduled for October

The Metals Service Center Institute, Rolling Meadows, Ill., has announced two upcoming, chapter-hosted "A Manufacturing Summit: Closing the Divide Between Jobs, Policy and Growth" events. Eleven such events are being held around the country in 2012. All Republican and Democrat federal candidates have been invited to participate in these events.

The meetings are intended to mobilize the metals industry — producers, service centers, processors, and end users — in advance of the 2012 elections around issues that threaten the long-term outlook for manufacturing and the U.S. economy, as well as educate candidates on these issues.

The Northern Ohio chapter hosts the event Oct. 1 at Jergens Inc., Cleveland, while the Philadelphia chapter hosts the summit Oct. 4 at Yarde Metals, Limerick, Pa. At both locations, a networking reception begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 6:00. The Oct. 1 event also includes an MSCI members-only plant tour.
