Novelis receives two European Aluminum Awards

Novelis, Atlanta, a provider of aluminum rolling and recycling, has received two 2014 European Aluminum Awards. Organized by the Dutch Aluminium Center, the European Aluminium Association (EAA,) and the German Aluminium Association (GDA), the awards recognize efficient and forward-thinking uses of aluminum as a material.

In the Building and Architecture category, Novelis received the winning prize for the Blue Planet aquarium building in Copenhagen, constructed with Novelis falzonal® pre-painted aluminum for roof cladding. The firm also received a prize for its online measuring tool for thin coatings on aluminum coils. The newly invented, highly sensitive measurement method, which was developed in cooperation with the University of Leipzig, determines coating thickness and content at high process velocities without touching the surface.
