Prolamsa USA begins producing mechanical tubing in U.S.

Prolamsa USA has begun production of mechanical tubing at its first U.S. manufacturing facility, located in Laredo, Texas. The facility produces mechanical tubing from 1/2 to 2-1/2 in. and includes a cut-to-length line. It also stocks mechanical and structural steel (HSS) tubing.

A second facility in Laredo stocks metal building shapes and components, such as C- and Z-purlins, angles and channels, and slit red primered coils.

Previously the company handled marketing and sales activities in the U.S. and Canada for its parent company, Prolamsa, which manufactured tubing in Mexico. However, product deliveries to U.S. and Canadian customers sometimes were delayed at the border. With production in Laredo, the company can provide faster deliveries, quicker turnaround times, and JIT stocking programs for those customers.
