RathGibson supplies tubing to power generation industry in China

RathGibson, Lincolnshire, Ill., a manufacturer of welded, welded and drawn, and seamless stainless steel, nickel, and titanium tubing, has supplied Nanjing Turbine & Electric Machinery Group Co. Ltd. (NTC), located in China, with 40 tons of light-walled titanium tubing.

The Chinese manufacturer makes equipment for power-generation facilities, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and motors. The tubing will be used in the assembly of two seawater condensers for a power plant project in Fuijan, China.

RathGibson manufactured the grade 2 titanium tubing, with 0.98-in. OD and 0.02- and 0.03-in. wall thickness, to NTC's specifications, which are stricter than those put forth in ASME B 338 standards, according to the company.
