Ratner Steel to expand in Indiana

Roseville, Minn.-based Ratner Steel Supply Co. has announced plans to double the size of its plant in Portage, Ind., adding 100,000 sq. ft. and hiring up to 37 more employees by 2019.

The firm, which makes carbon sheet for service centers and manufacturers, has been operating at capacity in Portage 24 hours a day, producing 300,000 tons of finished steel products a year.

Construction of the $8.83 million project is expected to be completed by March 2017.
