Reliance Steel & Aluminum to acquire Earle M. Jorgensen Co.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. ("Reliance") and Earle M. Jorgensen Company ("EMJ") have announced a definitive merger agreement in which Reliance will acquire EMJ. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2006. Both companies have headquarters in Southern California.

With locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, EMJ inventories various metal products and specializes in cold finished carbon and alloy bars; mechanical tubing; stainless bars and shapes; aluminum bars, shapes and tubes; and hot-rolled carbon and alloy bars. Once acquired, EMJ will continue to operate its business as it has in the past.

Reliance has more than 100 metal service center locations in the U.S. and in Belgium, France, and South Korea.
