SMDI VP featured speaker at 2015 AWMI Detroit Chapter annual dinner

The Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI), Southfield, Mich., has announced that Jody Hall, vice president for the automotive market, was the featured speaker at the 2015 Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI) Detroit Chapter Annual Industry Dinner, held April 28.

"I know how important organizations like AWMI are to further promote opportunities for women in the metals industry," said Hall. "So, to be the featured speaker at the group's annual dinner was an honor. It's a really exciting time in the materials industry, and we hope more women continue to take part in science, technology, engineering, and math fields."

Hall spoke about her professional background working at General Motors Co. with responsibilities from research and development of new materials and manufacturing processes to solving current production problems. In addition, she talked about how SMDI brings together the North American steel industry and automakers.
