SSAB Tunnplt introduces new HSS

SSAB Tunnplåt, a developer of advanced high-strength steels, has announced its latest ultrahigh-strength, dual-phase steel, Dogal 800 DPX, a hot-dip galvanized steel that can be rebent without the risk of cracking, the company says.

According to the company, the steel opens new opportunities for developing compact, lightweight, and strong crash protection components for passenger cars. It enables reinforcing beams to be more complex in design while reducing the number of forming operations required to produce the beams.

The new steel has a minimum tensile strength of 800 N/mm2.
