Wise Metals Group hires CFO

Monte D. Schaefer has joined Wise Metals Group, Muscle Shoals, Ala., as CFO.

Schaefer worked previously at Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp., Nashville, where he was vice president of finance and controller. Before working in the aluminum industry, he was director of operations and finance for Lincoln Electric Co.'s Harris Products Group.

A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Schaefer has master's degrees in business administration and science, as well as a law degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta.

Wise Metals Group is the holding company of divisions Wise Alloys, a producer of aluminum can stock for the beverage and food industries; Wise Recycling, a direct-from-the-public collector of aluminum beverage containers; Total Maintenance Center, which provides maintenance, fabrication, and repair to manufacturing and industrial plants worldwide; and Alabama Electric Motor Service, which sells and repairs industrial electric motors.
