Michigan Seamless Tube expands pickling capabilities

Michigan Seamless Tube, a manufacturer of carbon and alloy seamless, cold-drawn pipe and tube in South Lyon, Mich., will complete construction on a new, 9,600-sq.-ft. pickling house later this year. The pickling house will be the fifth of its kind at the company's 320,000-sq.-ft. facility, enabling the manufacturer to produce an additional 450 tons of product monthly.

The increased pickling efficiency will allow the company to improve material flow at its mill and decrease lead-time while also decreasing emissions and reducing the amount of waste that needs to be transported and treated.
