Motoman appoints president and CEO

Motoman Inc., Dayton, Ohio, has named Steve Barhorst as president and COO. He succeeds Craig Jennings, whose departure after nearly 19 years comes at a time when the company is shifting to a global strategy designed for aggressive growth.

Barhorst joined the company as vice president and CFO in 2000 and became senior vice president and CFO in 2004. In 2005 he assumed additional responsibility for leading the company's Standards & Logistics Group, which represents about 50 percent of the company's business. In 2007 he was named president of Motoman Robotica do Brasil.

Jennings' 11 years as president and COO were preceded by seven years of executive leadership positions within sales and marketing with Motoman. In 2005 in Tokyo, he was presented with the Engelberger Award for Leadership, the robotics industry's highest honor, by Joseph Engelberger.
