Nucor exec receives Steel Manufacturers Association award

Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C., has announced that its Executive Chairman Dan DiMicco has received the Iverson-Selig Award from the Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) in recognition of his contributions to the minimill steel industry.

DiMicco served as CEO of Nucor from September 2000 through December 2012. Under his leadership, Nucor's total shareholder return growth of 720 percent was almost four times greater than the total return of the Standard & Poor's Steel Group Index and was 28 times greater than the S&P 500's total return.

Nucor and affiliates are manufacturers of steel bars, beams, sheet, plate, piling, joists and joist girders, deck, grating and expanded metal, wire and wire mesh, and fasteners, as well as fabricated concrete reinforcing steel, cold-finished steel, and metal building systems.
