Omco announces plant expansion, equipment upgrade

Omco, a manufacturer of custom roll formed parts in Wickliffe, Ohio, has announced plans to begin a major plant expansion and upgrade project at its facility in Pierceton, Ind. The project, expected to cost about $6.7 million, is slated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2015.

The project will add 42,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space to the plant’s current 85,000 sq. ft. The company also will add roll forming lines and redesign critical aspects of its existing lines to help improve manufacturing flexibility, lead-times, and overall production efficiency. The company estimates that these changes together will increase the plant’s throughput capability by more than 50 percent.

Once the expansion is completed, the workforce at the Pierceton facility is expected to increase by about 40 employees.
