1 Engineering & Manufacturing (1EM), Neenah, Wis., a multidisciplined, vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing company providing advanced manned and unmanned intervention systems for the subsea oil and gas industry, has expanded capacity with its first capital improvement program. The program has tripled the firm's manufacturing capacity while increasing its workforce.
The effort comprised a full factory reconfiguration of 46,000 sq. ft. of existing large-scale machinery and the purchase and installation of new machining equipment, including a CNC vertical machining center, CNC vertical turning center, CNC horizontal turning center, CNC plasma cutting machine, and horizontal boring mill.
In the process, the company has added projects, including a 650-ft. saturation diving system for Dulam Intl. Ltd. of Dubai, submarine decompression system interface template sets for Oceaneering Intl. Inc., and suction pile plugs for Subsea 7's i-Tech Division.
