Omco to export turnkey roll forming facility to Australia

December 5, 2013

Custom roll former Omco, Wickliffe, Ohio, has entered into an agreement with IXL Solar of Australia to provide technical expertise related to IXL Solar’s design and production of roll formed parts for use in the construction of a 155-MW solar project near the towns of Nyngan and Broken Hill in Australia. This project is part of the Australian government's Solar Flagships program.

Omco will design, manufacture, and provide technical support for a complete roll forming line, including prepunch dies, a stamping press, and a cutoff station. The entire manufacturing line will be designed, fabricated, and prequalified at Omco’s headquarters before shipment to Australia.

The Solar Flagships project is expected to begin construction in the first quarter of 2014 and be completed by mid-2015.
