ALSCO wins 2004 NCCA Safety Award

The National Coil Coating Association (NCCA) has presented its 2004 Best Safety Practices Award to ALSCO Metals Corp. of Roxboro, N.C. The award was announced at NCCA's Fall Technical Meeting in Chicago on Oct. 1.

More than 40 U.S. coater facilities competed for the award. The NCCA Safety Committee judged all entries based on employee injury and illness incidence rate, lost workday cases, lost-time cases, and the total hours worked in their offices and plants.

This is the second year for the annual award. The three other finalists for the 2004 award were Amerimax Coated Products of Anaheim, Calif., NAPCO of Valencia, Pa., and Precoat Metals of McKeesport, Pa. The 2003 award went to Steelscape's facility in Kalama, Wash.
