OSHA offers shipyard safety e-tool

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) offers an e-tool describing common shipyard work hazards and possible solutions for tasks performed during the ship repair process.

The e-tool covers access; cleaning and other cold work; confined or enclosed spaces and other dangerous atmospheres; electrical circuits and circuit boards; general working conditions; hot work; ladders; machinery and piping systems; materials handling (including gear and equipment for rigging); pressure vessels, drums, and containers; painting and other coating; personal protective equipment; scaffolding; surface preparation; and tools.
