The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), Wauconda, Ill., has launched a series of webinars targeted to designers and engineers, providing information on how to create optimal designs with aluminum extrusion.
Two upcoming educational programs are scheduled for summer. "It's About the SHAPE: Designing with Aluminum Extrusion" will be presented in conjunction with Design News at 2:00 p.m. EDT on June 27, 2013. A similar webinar, but focused on applications in the solar energy market, will be presented in conjunction with Solar Power World at 2:00 p.m. EDT on July 25, 2013. Other application markets will receive similar focus in the fall.
The one-hour webinars will address the challenges faced by designers and engineers, including extrusion design for minimal system cost and optimal manufacturing, profile design tips, optimizing shapes to meet structural requirements, and the economics of extruded components. Participants also will receive an overview of the extrusion process, as well as information about the sustainability aspects of extrusion.
