Ajax Tocco supplies induction billet heating system to LC Mfg.
Ajax Tocco Magnethermic Corp., Warren, Ohio, has shipped a 1,000-kW PowerZone billet heating system to LC Mfg., Lake City, Mich.
The 1.3- to 3.3-kHz system is designed to heat 1.06- to 2.875-in.-dia. by 6.0- to 20.0-in.-long carbon steel billets to forging temperatures. The system includes automatic changing of frequency for differing billet sizes.
A PLC with touchscreen display featuring ForgeView Plus software is included. The unit is loaded by a vibratory bowl feeder.
