Altair, APWorks partner to make additive manufacturing available to customers

Troy, Mich.-based Altair and APWorks, Taufkirchen, Germany, have entered a nonexclusive partnership for additive manufacturing (AM). The companies will make AM available to customers in various industries, providing them with consulting, advanced design and simulation technology, and production processes.

A key area of collaboration is joint, end-to-end consulting by the two firms to help companies explore the potential of AM for their own applications through pilot projects and technology demonstrations. This includes screening and identification of applications, component redesign, quantification of potential levels of product performance improvements, printing and physical testing of prototypes up to serial production, cost analysis and business case preparation, knowledge transfer to the customer, and the adoption of AM in the customer’s organization.
